Sammy Crowell, 76, of Diamond passed away on Sunday November 8, 2020 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
Sammy was born on January 8, 1944 in Providence, KY the son of the late Archie Clinton Crowell and Mamie Alice Gobin Crowell. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Marie Averill on February 22, 2020; and his brother, Bill Crowell.
Mr. Crowell is retired from Dotiki mine where he worked as a coal miner, an avid outdoorsman, and a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church but attended Diamond Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Edith Lamb Crowell of Diamond; daughters, Debra Garrett of Dixon, KY; Jessica(Thomas) Brooks of Corydon, KY; and LaDonna(Rodney) McClure of Onton, KY; one sister, Ann Bohanon of Grand Rivers, KY; his grandchildren Terina Langston, Clinton Campbell, Robert Bussing, Johnathon Norman; great grandchildren, Zoey Alexis Langston, Darrian Louis Langston, Bentley Tyler Campbell, Kinslee Isabell Campbell, Kylee McClure, Jamee McClure, Samantha Brooks, Waylon Bussing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday November 11, 2020 in the Lucille Melton Memorial Chapel at Melton Funeral Home with Bro. Micah Kelley officiating with burial to follow in the White Oak Cemetery near Clay.
Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the service hour on Wednesday November 11, 2020 at Melton Funeral Home.
