David “ Dave O” Thomason, 54, of Providence passed away on Wednesday September 6, 2023, at his parent’s home.
He was born on September 29, 1968, in Madisonville, KY; the son of Mr. William Owen Thomason and Mrs. Genia Halsrud Thomason. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William “Cotton” and Elizabeth Thomason, Helen Harvey, Great Grandmother, Lena Stevens, and his in laws, Martha Travis and James Sisco.
He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, he enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, he graduated from Webster County High School Class of 1986, he was a coal miner where he worked at Dodge Hill Mines and Advent Coal Sebree mines, he worked at Carhart, but his favorite hobby was spending time with his grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie of Dixon, KY; two sons, Jared (Hailie) Newcom of Providence, KY; Jaxon Owen Thomason of Providence, KY; his sisters, Billie Kay (Richie) Wood of Providence, KY; Kelsea (Bruce) Watson of Enterprise, AL; grandson, Cylis Newcom, nephews, William Ryder Wood, Ryver Owen Wood, Malichi Watson, Archer Watson, niece, Harper Watson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 9, 2023, at 1:30PM in the chapel at Melton Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Cullen officiating with burial to follow in the Lakeview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the service time on Saturday September 9, 2023, at Melton Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
